Employee - Vice President

Work people to death, no compassion for employees

Employee - Managing Director

JPM is a very good institution. At this moment, however, they are still re-aligning themselves in terms of strategy, finding the right culture, etc. Once they are more stable and back to business, then, I would highly recommend it. At this stage, better to wait and see.

Employee - Managing Director

The brand is good. However, in Indonesia, many know that JPM is not that active.

Employee - Managing Director

Before the Consent letter issued, the culture is clearer, more collaborative, pro-business, etc. Now, they are still re-aligning with current market condition. So culture is still in process of finding the proper form.

Employee - Vice President

Needs more mid-manager training, particularly on employee management - Insufficient Human Resources employee support - Executive Directors (ED) Performance Evaluation processes/tools, hence insufficient linkage to compensation increases. However, there is a process imposed on those lower than ED - Poor resource management and planning e.g. someone could be hired one year and let go 13 months later due to poor management strategies planning - Mobility tool is used to meet regulatory and other requirements; as for the most part a candidate is already selected for a role in the background, the gathering of other candidates and evaluation is just a formality to meet regulatory/audit requirements

Employee - Vice President

Has a great reputation; Success is contingent upon which business the employee works for and location

Employee - Vice President

Culture depends on the LOB/department/group - In the Corporate groups you would find it to be more stiff, no fun, heads-down always while sitting in tight close quarters.

Employee - Vice President

When I worked there the upper site manager changed 3 times. I'm not sure who was in charge of those placements but they could have done a better job. I personally had a SVP that had a temper and no one addressed it. There was also a time when my boss said that we should roll out mandatory over time rather than just ask who can work overtime. We did not implement mostly because I disagreed. During my time there it seemed to be more of a who liked who and who is putting their head down and doing as they are told rather than speaking up and possibly doing a process that would improve the process and cost the company less.

Employee - Vice President

People here seem to be impressed with people having worked for such a larger company.

Employee - Vice President

The company is more concerned about what you do or if you say something that might be something a senior manager doesn't like is more important than employees being allow a work life balance. They made the place feel like you could get in trouble for not finishing the work even if it was beyond the normal amount of work called for.

Employee - Vice President

Work for right boss your career is made on his recommendation or giving you the actual credit not himself

Employee - Vice President

Working at JP Morgan was intense and cut throat No real value for quality people with a mind only if you attended Harvard like Jamie Dimon

Employee - Vice President

Suggest a change in Culture of Fear of making a mistake

Employee - Vice President

You have to drive your own career and never get complacent in whatever position you are in. There are opportunities but you have to actively seek them out

Employee - Vice President

It varies by group. Some groups have a great culture, some not so much. Constant fear of offshoring or relocation.
