Employee - Associate
There were few, if any, internal mobility opportunities during the 4 years I was there, so that should be a definite priority for an ambitious employee ready to move forward after a couple of years in the first role.
Employee - Associate
Some people are intelligent, genuinely work hard, and it shows. Some people are not so intelligent, and do not work hard, but simply appear as they do, taking credit for things that others have done. Try not to fall into the latter, as that can be tempting. Unfortunately, you can advance in either path.
Employee - Associate
I had good colleagues, but there were definitely slackers and those who clearly wanted to move ahead without doing much, but kept up the appearances. These guys destroyed the culture -- hard work, intelligence, collaboration.

Suggest that there is less requirement for work on vacation
Employee - Managing Director
We were proud of our brand.
Employee - Vice President
Investment bank experience is valuable and thy all suck to be a woman working for them- so I would change that
Employee - Vice President
Culture is like an investment bank

The name "Lazard" opens doors, period.
Employee - Analyst
People are by-and-large unusual AND extremely bright. Lazard is a place for slightly eccentric geniuses. However, the lack of inspirational leadership means that attrition can be high.
Employee - Associate
Hard work is valued at Lazard. You learn a ton and everyone respects the brand. Hit and miss on culture based on individual groups/teams. Each is run their own way
Employee - Associate
Fiefdoms and everyone is self interested here. That said, very smart people to work with

Wish to change the salary and opportunities to grow
Employee - Vice President
If given the chance, I would not change a thing at this company.
Employee - Vice President
Leadership has no interest in developing subordinates. Neopotism and cronyism are rampant.
Employee - Associate
Uncollegial work culture
Employee - Vice President
No opportunity for junior people to growth up to the most senior ranks. There should be more turnover at MD level to allow young talents to grow up to the top spots
Employee - Vice President
Very demanding environment, you need to be smart and well connected to be successful
Employee - Vice President
Has a strong culture with a strong feel of been one of the best places in IB thanks to a strong heritage and a very talented team of senior managers
