This particular LM site produced several prototypes involving a full product cycle ( design, build, test, troubleshooting to manufacturing) the engineer must be diverse a quick thinker and and possess the ability to multitask.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Wish there was a retirement plan for former employees.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Ok, it was very shareholder oriented and too politically correct and politically left invested in reference to a campaign donations and rules for employees concerning such.

They will find a way to remove you from the retirement plan with a reduction in pay as early as possible if they can without it looking discriminatory due to age 55 or earlier cutoff if you are nearing a retirement benefit that grows exponentially within that last 8-10 years. A reduction of 5% for every year early retirement is a hefty savings to their retirement plan as well as all the other benefits they have to pay for full time employees while you would normally be attaining full 100% retirement benefits at age 65.
Employee - Director
Wish they'd get rid of performance reviews.
Employee - Entry / Intern

The work was fascinating for an engineer. There were lots of people my age. There were lots of sports and social activities.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The work is technically fascinating. Writing code for a game is not technically fascinating. Building an airborne laser system to shoot down missiles is technically fascinating.
Employee - Analyst / Associate
Would suggest LM to be more open to your employees.

Affinity groups were supported at our company. I was able to start an Asian American affinity group at LMCO, and participated in our LGBT one.

Needs to provide better and updated social training to their management and engineering staff members. Technically, Lockheed Martin is an excellent company. Unfortunately, past behavior and years of doing business as usual blinded them to things (socially) that were going on within to company.
Employee - Analyst / Associate
The culture could be substantially improved if they wanted to. Unfortunately, they may need better and more up-to-date social training in this area.

Be careful not to be outspoken. No matter how pleasant, your perceived demeanor can be misconstrued.
Employee - Director
Should get rid of back-stabbing attitude to many women and some men in the company. Provide more leadership and career progression opportunities for non-white Hispanics and Asians instead of promoting so many white women.
Employee - Director
Had backstabbing and promoted insiders/friends/members of their club. Limited career progression and promotion opportunities for employees not homegrown in the company. Too many white women in power.
Employee - Director
There is quality and dedication of employees at Lockheed Martin. Benefits and training were also substantial.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
More long-term permanent positions should be created.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Team Work was very much encouraged.
