Employee - Assistant / Coordinator

Amazing work environment. Professional yet friendly. Always learning new things. Prestigious, exciting trips team building. Best job I've ever had!

Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)

Folks treated and paid well.

Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)

The company does not exist anymore.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

I would recommend Medco, but ESI acquired Medco and the culture has changed.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Smart colleagues, organized environment, service oriented company, single platform.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

service oriented, client and member experience were important

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

Friendly work environment.

Employee - Director

It was a good place to work. Corporate Culture was conducive to doing your best.

Employee - Director

Although Medco was acquired by Express Scripts, I would have recommended Medco for persons who are intelligent, highly motivated and driven to create high quality, efficient, comprehensive health care solutions.

Employee - Director

Medco was very high pressure and intense. However, compared to other places I have worked, once a reputation for delivering high quality products was developed, it was easy to develop productive partnerships across the organization. The financial rewards were often commensurate to my performance.

Employee - Director

Did not stop people who were willing to contribute and deliver high quality systems

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

If you really need a job, then yes work here. Be warned, Medco is heavy on hype and platitudes. Each department is almost a self sustained silo and they only seem to care about their siloes. There is no holistic view at the department level. The higher up you go, the more holistic it does get, but the more bureaucratic it gets. Frankly, this is a frustrating and monotonous place to work. So much so that lucrative stock bonus on an annual basis and a quarterly bonus performance plan was still not an incentive to stay. The feeling is that you are a number and not a person and you are treated as such.

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

The culture was stifling, frustrating, and closed minded. I felt like I was crawling out of my skin from irritation as that the way to do things was figured out and you just had to do it that way regardless of any obvious flaws. Innovation was allowed if you were part of the leadership clique. And only if you were a member.

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

I am not ashamed, but I am not proud. I learned a lot while there, but I learned how to do things and how not to do things. The biggest liberator in no longer working there is that I was actually able to do something with the knowledge using my God given intuition and judgement instead of plodding along like a servant with no ability to think for myself.

Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)

Senior staff doesn't value people enough.

Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)

The organization doesn't allow for opinions without retribution and it's not collegial. The people are viewed as part of a function only.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

ESI purchased Medco, Medco no longer exists.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Colleagues supported each other and had fun while at work.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Medco was client service oriented, had a great platform and worked very well for members and customers. Retrospectively, I wish more large companies offered the same training, system simplification and content organization to help employees succeed. Client retention was rarely an issue.

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

Political environment. They just talked about improving productivity but when it came time to do it, it was not going to be done. "Not on my turf"
