Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
My experience at Moody's was very pleasant. I enjoyed the firm's collegial environment, commitment to diversity and inclusion and senior staff's desire to foster an environment where professional development was valued.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Moody's is in the business of opinions and every person, irrespective of seniority, was encouraged to offer insight.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Moody's corporate culture is unrivaled. However, compensation is poor relative to other financial services firms.
Employee - Director
Good company for longevity.
Employee - Director
Collaborative, but leadership driven.
Employee - Director
Prestigious until 2008 Financial Crisis, now neutral at best.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
The work itself is interesting due to the methodology that each team uses. However, promotion criteria is unclear and it is sometime difficult to move across teams and divisions.
Employee - Principal / Managing Director / General Manager
Junior people can gain great experience and exposure to corporate and credit analysis that can only be gained in a few places. I would recommend working at Moody's for a period of time in one's financial services career
Employee - Principal / Managing Director / General Manager
The culture was insular, and somewhat secretive.
Employee - Principal / Managing Director / General Manager
There is very little incentive to retain good people. Rather, it is viewed as a training ground to move on. The "cream of the crop" definitely does not stay at the firm. Rather, people with longevity tend to be those who are either complacent, unambitious, or don't have the skills to move on to more interesting and challenging rolls. The culture is such that mediocrity often rises to the top and the most talented leave and take their skills elsewhere.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The company has a lot of opportunities and they are very open.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Everyone is very friendly and always willing to help. It is non-competitive.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
They are known for being a good company in terms of credit training.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Exceptionally long hours, none of the often promised work-life balance, ever-increasing regulatory burdens and internally imposed policy restrictions, and never adding staff to address these issues, instead adding additional layers of bureaucracy to make completing tasks increasingly difficult, lack of respect and knowledge about what the analytical staff was struggling with by the senior management, constant mismanagement of human resources, etc.
Employee - Director
The general population in the group I was in was good. There are some wonderful and talented people at Moody's. Nobody loved management or the company but the paycheck could be good which made people look the other way on sexual harassment, inept bad bosses in the boys club - Moody's Analytics to be specific! Analysts on the ratings side were limited in their social qualifications and narrow minded. Its a C class move to be a Moody's analyst. Shoot for an A or B level institution!
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Weak management, and organizational structure.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
Stodgy work culture.
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
I'd recommend working here but it all depends on the group. Leadership at Moody's IT is clueless
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
Is pro ported to be inclusive and open but I did not find it that way at all
Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)
Best to keep your head down while working here.
