Employee - Vice President
Needs to increase focus on employee satisfaction versus just shareholder value

Best tip for success working here - stay focused on making company money.

It is all about the money. No heart. No compassion.

The culture at Morgan Stanley used to be great, management cared. Not so much any more.
Employee - Vice President
this was a company that paid for the best, now it's become a good source for talent for head hunters.
Employee - Vice President
cheapest firm I've ever worked for
Employee - Associate
A culture that is superficially caring, but not really. Individualistic, less sense of belonging among employees or leaders.

I wish they provided more perks

More transparency, growth ladders and ownership needs to be updated.
Employee - Vice President
Culture is very competitive and cutthroat. There is no team spirit and morale is often low.
Employee - Vice President
It's good to have the brand name on my resume but otherwise, it was not a great career experience.

The level of nepotism that exists in the London office makes it difficult to have a proper career trajectory there.

Individual desk/department heads have discretion to make your life miserable ... or not. "A great place to work" depends on who you're reporting to

It's a great firm to be FROM.
Employee - Vice President
Attitudes, behaviors, reward systems still support and exacerbate the good ole boy network. Pathetic.
Employee - Managing Director
The culture is burtal and counterproductive. They will not keep young people out of college and these young analysts have been moving on outside of this industry after working there.

The campus was amazing and having a gym was my saving grace. But they allow children to manage children. Bullying was so bad in my department many people just left the company. Day in and day out I felt like the bullied kid not wanting to go to school. But I had to live and pay my bills. Management was so selfish and cult like it was hard to even voice your opinion. If they reconstructed their work environment and staff. I could consider working there again.

Working here taught me who I don't want to be or be like in a professional setting. Help those who are willing to learn. My experience was traumatizing and I would not like to be very specific. It would be like reliving a war.

I'd suggest a change in management who participated in bullying and corrupt business. They targeted an army vet and made his time there so miserable he never came back. An army vet could not return to the toxic environment. There is management there who runs the show like a cult.

It's laid back, much better than other firms. They don't micro manage.
