Nationwide offers solid exposure to a wide range of financial services.
Employee - Director
You need to source your information from multiple sources to get a clear picture of where the company is headed and where you fit in.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
For the most part it was a great experience, but when I was a full time employee, I was harassed by a manager. I reported it and the person was only moved to another area. Should have taken more actions. I did come back as a contractor and each of my managers were great, so was a single experience.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
For the most part the management works to supply a great product to their customers.

Very inclusive work culture.
Employee - Director
I recommend it for the career opportunities, benefits, and sense of making a difference one feels when employed by Nationwide.
Employee - Director
Nationwide's continues to suffer from a culture of cronyism beyond the Manager level with promotions based on who is considered "in" rather than performance. Accountability is non-existent; it is common knowledge that folks change jobs every 2-3 years to 'stay ahead of their results.' A select few are pulled aside and provided, "the secret rules to get ahead." If you out-perform the "in" senior leadership crown, you are not pulled aside but rather seen as a threat and moved out of the organization.
Employee - Director
To reach executive level responsibilities, do not over-perform, but rather strive to fit in with those who are already in the executive ranks. Below Director level, work hard and move around as opportunities arise to understand the entire organization and how it works. Realize that once you are in management, you will work 60-70 hours a week to meet your manager's expectations.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Decent company with good people with great product to sell. Opportunity for growth.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Culture had lots of social activities such as Annual Christmas Lunch for employees, summer picnic for families, quarterly update meetings with Sr. Mgt. It was a nice environment and has the recognition.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Bit better than average overall. Growing and expanding and as it gets bigger, employees become more cog in wheel. Upward mobility up to a point. You have to work hard, go extra mile, volunteer for new assignments to be recognized for career growth.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Nationwide treats its employees very well. The health benefits, cpe, vacation, employee recognition, culture, etc. are tremendous.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Reputation, Integrity are important here.
