Current Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
PA Consulting does not grow at any cost. They only hire people they think are good enough, which means there is only an A-team and not a B-team as some other consultancies might have. PA thus has a strong market reputation among other employers, because they know how difficult it is to get hired at PA, and also to be succesfull after several years.

You quickly get a lot of responsibility and the learning curve is steep. The colleagues are great and the salary is decent.

WORK CULTURE

We are a little unknown in the US but very well known in the UK and Europe.
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
pays in lumpsum and at avg market rate
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
lack of vision and transparency, poor responsiveness
Employee - Principal/VP/Director
doesn't hv a long term vision. too much focus on short term profits, operate on high margins 40% which is not sustainable.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
in the Nordics and UK, PA has a very strong brand. Outside - not so much.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
very appreciative and nice colleagues especially at lower levels.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
Compensation is based on how long you have been with the company and to a minor extent how well you do.
Employee - Associate/Consultant
All the power is concentrated in UK, so outside the senior partners have very little power. They are just managers.
Employee - Manager
PA does not enjoy a positive reputation in this region.
Employee - Manager
Very poor corporate culture with arrogant senior leadership who don't take accountability.
Employee - Manager
Regional office not aligned with HQ, poor culture, very little training, volatility in leadership, lay offs due to acquisitions and the list goes on.
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Very strong in the UK. Weak in the US at least from an ID stance. Our clients love us and feel we deliver great work, but we struggle getting access to key buyers of consulting work
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Transparent and flat Everyone knows or roughly knows where people stand in the firm. And while we have ranks an Analyst with a great idea and horsepower can get traction for their ideas and Partner visibility
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Goal is for a more bonus heavy comp structure. 50% of net income makes up the bonus pool. Base is below market by a sizable amount
Employee - Senior Associate/Consultant
Open, honest, transparent
