I think the firm is not all that well known.

Publicis Sapient offers a wide variety of industries/categories to get experience in, and has a lot of major clients that can be fun accounts to work on. The team is very smart and good at what they do at Publicis Sapient, and very excited about their work.

It's a very relaxed culture but one where people are still driven to do good work.

There is much confusion over the brand and holding company because it has had so many name changes over the years (Sapient, SapientNitro, Rosetta, Razorfish, SapientRazorfish, etc.) and mergers/acquisitions of agencies. The brand is not seen in a consistent way by the market, but it is known as a large company with significant clients.

My expertise is financial services. Since the Publicis transaction, P.S no longer occupies that niche in the marketplace with the same dedication and specificity.

P.S thinks it offers better work opportunities than is actually the case

Losing the laser focus it had on financial services

While there are some great pockets of culture in the firm, the culture is highly inconsistent. Teams are overworked and there is a large culture of trying to get the most money out of the client rather than necessarily doing right by them. Sapient advertises itself as Agile but that methodology hasn't been adopted by much of the company and many of the teams struggle with actually completing sprints honestly and completing a post mortem process. TImelines are harsh and timetracking is a joke - I've never seen it feed into better allocations. Additionally the amount of time spent of administration is at least 4-8 hours a week, especially when traveling, and this is often billed to the clients instead of tracked against any internal time codes. Essentially this is a company that cares more for its bottom line than employee health, client outcomes, or pushing innovative work.

Emphasis is so much on the bottom line and there's a real hierarchy that expects folks to bow down to leadership rather than gain any real mentorship and feedback. It's very hard to access leadership, mostly because they're just not physically around and they don't take the time to invest in employee growth or happiness. Many of the employees are overworked as they are immigrants who rely on their employers for status and are therefore not empowered to complain about working conditions.

Increasingly known for uncreative and commodity work. While Sapient touts its Marcel project as evidence of its innovaton, internal teams are unable to learn or grow in innovative or advanced areas and are unable to use any learning the develop independently.
