When interviewees ask me about the culture at Squarespace, I always emphasize that (notwithstanding the fact that we're a for-profit company) the people who work here tend to be mission-driven. They tend to believe that the work we do matters to our customers and that our integrity (in terms of our business tactics, the quality of our product, the type of support we provide, and so on) is extremely important.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
We are a company with a high-quality product, a premium brand, and a strong commitment to customer support; all of this means that lots of people have positive first-hand experiences with the work we do. Telling people I work at Squarespace is something I do with pride.

Wish there were more opportunities to connect with employees across all three offices.

Employees at Squarespace tend to be thoughtful and forward thinking.

We're committed to our customers and are always aiming to improve their experience, whether it's through design, UX, communication, or anything else.

I wish there was more mobility given in the company. As we grow, I see more people leave when there are not role changes available.

Everyone here is driven to excel and build a great community. They believe in the product and its ability to impact people's lives. You're constantly surrounded by others who uplift, encourage, and support you. They look for opportunities for you to use your special skills and experience growth in the workplace. I love coming to work. My co-workers feel more like friends!

The company gives you the ability to take an idea and create the opportunity for that idea to be implemented. They love feedback and respond to it, no matter what level you are in the company. Our senior managers are always able to meet with you for conversations and are easily accessible.

Would recommend the opportunity for more internal movement across departments and in different roles. Starting as an advisor gives you opportunity to express your skill set, but little room to grow in regards to title of your position within the company.

Culture is collaborative, fun, and serious all at once. It's an adult version of a startup. We are respected no matter our age/experience. We have fun. We get work done. We like to stay late together and make it all happen. We take the brand very seriously, but we're not stuffy. I am proud to be a part of this company. It is like no other workplace I've ever been in!

Anthony Casalena, our CEO, has created a work environment like no other. I hope future companies can model the workplace here.

Depending where someone is at in their career, I think recommending Squarespace is a great place to start a career. There are less opportunities for middle managers.

Company culture is great. It probably is the thing carrying the company at this point. People like working together and enjoy the benefits and perks.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Salary is low, everyone knows it. They try to offset it by saying we have great benefits, but many similar tech companies offer the same benefits, and pay %20-%30 more. Grow opportunities can be difficult to find. People with a lot of time at the company stay because it is comfortable and they have a lot of friends at the company.

Needs better organization of the product team. More growth (product) initiatives. More inertia around growth initiatives.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The culture varies by department. It's stronger in some than others. Culture is dictated by leadership, and some care more about culture than others.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
It's a stable place to work. One can easily work exactly 40 hours a week, not get fired and make the same amount of money each year. The options are too low to be meaningful. It's my opinion that this is completely lost on leadership. The other perks are nice, but, frankly, are table-stakes nowadays in the tech world, so the free lunches and unlimited vacation policy are not special (though, are very much appreciated).
Employee - Analyst / Associate
The culture at this company is fantastic and possibly the best I've ever experienced. We have a great leadership team who treats their employees like individuals instead of numbers. This company constantly iterates on making our space, our time and our work even more enjoyable. Most co-workers I know are genuinely excited to come into work every day.

Squarespace is a design leader in our industry. We're well known for our world class design and the thoughtfulness we put into each of the products we produce.
