Advice for new hires, become a regional employee and get away from the Cincinnati way of doing things.

The culture of the business side is do it their way and be yes people
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
I was there for eight years with consistent excellent annual performance review. The recognition I received was one promotion (to supervisor level) during the entire eight years. I got passed over a manager's position for a younger person (less seniority, less education). Definitely not a place to get recognized for good hard work.

Time Warner is a well-recognized name, but my time working there was not pleasant at all.

Because it a good old boys club. If you do not belong or be a yes person they do not wnat you. They are only for themself not for anyone else. Plus if you get on their bad side you will neve get promoted.

I was in finance dept. The environment in that department was abusive. no mutual respect.

Collaborative, management open.
Employee - Principal / Managing Director / General Manager
Overall, the company has a good work ethic and culture. Management has changed in recent years and there is more focus on financials, but it is a media company, so is fun to work in.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
One of the best companies I have ever worked for in my career. Management and staff worked together constantly to improve systems, training and benefits. Dialogue was open and went up and down the management chain. Ideas were never treated as problems, but as avenues for improving existing processes and functions. Benefits were good and I don't know if they still offer it, but one of the few companies at the time that offered a pension plan.

Selling without a consideration for customer needs is not a good thing for customer satisfaction.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
I would not work there again.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Old school, people are relics, still holding on to the 'good old times of magazines'. Many not friendly because they believe in hierarchy. Low innovation a critical thinking, everyone has 'their place'.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Old school, not innovative, mean, snobby, hierarchy. Didn't like outsiders or new ideas.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
The external reputation is good, so it looks good on my resume.
Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant
At the time, I worked there, I represented the magazine division. The culture was about having the WOW factor, for their clients, and for their people. As people, we are always looking to embrace the next challenge and sometimes, when we look back, we wondered why we left. In my situation, I married, and you needed to live in the territory that you were working. I moved to PA., and at the time, they did not have any openings in that state. Would I do it again... Yes, for love.

Granted, being in sales, the bottom line is important but the company always looked for creative ways to invest in their people. They believed, their people was their greatest asset. Their culture was about having fun while learning and establishing professionalism to present a quality product. On a quarterly bases, they would have team presenters and activities to challenge your mind within a group structure. This company, was one of the best I had the pleasure to be a part of.
