Change management was a problem as the bank hired very conservative and very traditional people in the management team. For a new foreign bank to be aggressive in a competitive space, the management team were mostly operations driven than marketing driven. Too much control stifled innovation and traditional approaches did not allow the bank to do breakthroughs - whether in sales, product development, customer engagement or the other key areas that a new player can make a difference.
