Culture is great for a large corporation but the office politics are not so great.

The coapny needs to be less virtualized and more regional.

Everyone is happy here and everyone is wiling to help others to achieve their objectives. So performance is high due to this, in my opinion

Very collaborative and innovative work culture.

Vmware needs to adjust how it values different drivers to success (not just titles or reaching quota, but sharing expertise).
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
A market leader in terms of benefits/compensation and recognition
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
A place where peers value differences in contribution that is not always measured in KPIs.
Employee - Director
Strong brand name that is important to have on your CV which reflect successful career in sales, pre-sales, and post-sales. However while the company is diverse, the equal opportunity is questionable in many ways especially in certain regions where the nationality is strong influencing factor in career progress. Also relationship between EMC and VMware can have negative impact on customer relationship in sometimes but I can't deny it had positive impact in other times... you need to know how to navigate that relationship and leverage it to the best of your interest as an employee.
Employee - Director
The culture was collaborative and entrepreneurial.

The management is all screwed up and they onstantly have re-orgs.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
Not a friendly place to work. Business units are nasty to each other. It is always someone else's job.
Employee - Manager / Senior Manager
It is a very unhealthy working environment.
