Is supply chain thinking changing?

May 31, 2022

Is supply chain thinking changing?

The pandemic revealed many imperfections in global supply chains. After decades of corporate cost reduction initiatives in logistics, transportation, purchasing, and supply chain management, we were surprised by a massive global disruption. Increasing time pressure, a limited labor market, unaddressed capacity bottlenecks, and growing governmental pressures make future best practices in supply chain management difficult to predict.

Watch this special session, led by Dr. Glenn Richey, Professor and Eminent Scholar at Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business, to learn more about how supply chain strategy is changing, answering pressing questions like:

• What got supply chains into trouble during the pandemic?

• How does supply chain strategic thinking need to change?

• Why do integration and collaboration matter?

• How will international manufacturing and sourcing adapt?

• Will companies maintain flexible return policies?
